In the 1950s & 60s, DC Comics (DC Superman National Comics - National Periodical Publications, Inc.) published two humor titles featuring comedy legends Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis. In the long run of their magazines, the characters' paths never crossed. DC also published a comic titled The Brave And The Bold, which teamed up almost every one of their stars except the funny ones. Our unofficial representation parody company, "FC Funnymen Farcical Comics - Farcical Symbolical Fabrications, Wink," rights that wrong! Our "They Crave To Be Bold" title replaces The Brave And The Bold issue No. 63, December 1965-January 1966, which featured a Supergirl and Wonder Woman team-up. The exclusive book's title splash page graphic is related to the front cover theme. The rest of the comic contains a "Tremendous Trio" origin story chronicling the creation of the Bob Hope And Jerry Lewis Alternate Comicverse set, plus our parodies of classic comic book ads and features. Please see The Book page for comic contents info.
Our Bob Hope And Jerry Lewis Alternate Comicverse card is No. 50 of a fictional series of 66 cards issued by our Topps Chewing Gum Co., Inc. cards parody company, "Stopps Doing Dumb No Think." The series' setting is 1966.
