Title Splash Page to Humphrey Bogart Comics No. 100, 1946 (March). A title splash page is a single-panel intro page to the first story of a comic book. It was hand-produced on the comic book industry 11 x 17 illustration board and finished in the standard camera-ready process. The production incorporates pen-and-ink work, archival pigment printing, and physical cut-and-paste headings and text.
Hollywood big-shot tough guys like John Wayne and Alan Ladd had their comic book titles, but the biggest hard-boiled character portrayer of 'em all did not! That has been put right with this unofficial representation comic highlighted by a classic "Infinity Cover" where Bogie enjoys his latest issue. Our Dell Magazine Four Color Comic - Dell Publishing Co., Inc. parody title, "Sell Melamine Floor Cover Comic - Sell Furnishings Low, Inc.," replaces Dell Four Color No. 100, starring singing cowboy legend Gene Autry. The exclusive book's title splash page graphic is a reduced color version of the line art. The rest of the comic contains a "Tremendous Trio" origin story chronicling the creation of the Humphrey Bogart Alternate Comicverse set, plus our parodies of classic comic book ads and features. Please see The Book page for details on the comic content.
Our Humphrey Bogart, Alternate Comicverse card, is No. 8 of a fictional series of 24 cards issued by our Signal Gasoline parody company, "Seagull Gasoline." The series' setting is 1948 and features Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall as part of a "Hollywood Stars Series."
